Nowadays modern life can take its toll on your skin, as can growing older. It hardly seems fair that from our 20’s onwards, our natural stores of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid all start to deplete, which can leave your skin looking dull, loose, and prone to lines, wrinkles, dehydration and sun damage. In fact, it’s estimated that by the time you reach 50, your skin will contain half of the collagen it did when you were 25.

Laser skin rejuvenation using the Medical Grade Xlase Plus laser is a popular and effective treatment option that stimulates collagen production to help address a wide range of issues caused by skin ageing. Several of the Xlase Plus applicator is suitable for skin rejuvenation treatments and give us the flexibility to address several concerns during a single course of treatment so that you get a bespoke solution for your skin.

Laser skin rejuvenation treatment FAQs

How does laser skin rejuvenation work?
During a laser treatment for skin rejuvenation, we direct pulses of light energy into your skin. This energy converts to heat, which injures or breaks down already damaged cells, while leaving neighboring, healthy cells unharmed.
Your body responds to this heat damage by triggering its own healing response, producing fresh collagen and elastin to ‘heal’ the area. Over time, this helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve areas of pigmentation, lift and tighten the skin, boost hydration, oily and acne.

Is laser skin rejuvenation safe?
Laser skin rejuvenation treatments are widely viewed to be safe and effective, especially when performed by a suitably experienced laser aesthetics practitioner. Some people find that their skin feels hot for approximately 15 minutes or so after treatment, and your skin may look red and flushed for about an hour.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

The number of sessions you need will depend on your individual case. When you come in for your initial consultation, we’ll be able to give you a much better idea of what to expect. Typically, laser skin rejuvenation treatments require four to six sessions spaced approximately four weeks apart with a top-up session every six months to maintain the results.

Is there anything I should do after the treatment?
There’s no downtime after a laser treatment. We recommend that you wear a high factor sunscreen (SPF 30+) to help protect your skin from unwanted pigment changes.
